An Air Canada flight from Delhi to Toronto faced a bomb threat that turned out to be a false alarm, local media reported on Wednesday.
The international flight, scheduled to depart on Tuesday night from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, was redirected to an isolation bay after an email claimed that a bomb had been planted on board. Police conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft but found nothing suspicious.
This incident is the latest in a series of hoax bomb threats targeting schools, airports, and hospitals in the national capital. Just last week, a similar scare led to a domestic flight being taken to an isolation bay at IGI Airport, which also proved to be a hoax.
Beyond Delhi, schools in cities such as Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru have also been plagued by similar threats recently.
Authorities are investigating the source of these hoax threats, which have caused widespread disruption and concern across various regions.
