PRESS RELEASE

Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Onoriode Agofure, has urged motorists to promptly attend to broken-down vehicles.
He issued this charge due to the hazards that broken-down and abandoned vehicles could cause in areas where they are left unattended.
He disclosed that Utopia Global Enterprise is the only recognized authority approved for the removal of broken-down, abandoned, and unauthorizedly parked vehicles for safety reasons across the state.
Agofure added that every group or individual not commissioned by the ministry should steer clear of such activities.
According to him, “Motorists are to ensure that broken-down vehicles are removed promptly from roadsides or any unsafe areas. Unauthorized parking of vehicles in busy junctions, marketplaces, as well as abandoned vehicles, should be attended to promptly.”
The Commissioner quickly added that even trucks are not an exception, stressing that vehicles left unattended could be a death trap to other road users.
Agofure further stated that any vehicle towed by Utopia Global Enterprise would be taken to a dump site, incurring a financial sanction that the owner would be required to pay.
Accordingly, owners of defaulting vehicles could face prosecution in a court of law.
