Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has named a 38-year-old engineer, Omobayo Godwin, as the new deputy governor following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu by the state House of Assembly on Monday. Omobayo’s appointment comes after the panel investigating Shaibu’s impeachment found him culpable of leaking government secrets.

He holds a B.Eng degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Benin.
