The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has told members to give his phone number to anyone who abducts them, saying he has the spiritual authority to secure their release.
Oyedepo made the remarks during a church service at the ministry’s Canaanland headquarters in Ota, Ogun State. A video of the sermon surfaced online and gained widespread attention on Thursday.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number,” he said while addressing congregants.
The cleric supported his directive with accounts he described as past cases of divine intervention involving kidnapped church members.
In one instance, he said a pastor was abducted and the kidnappers handed him the phone. He claimed he issued a warning that the abductor would die within 24 hours if the victim was not freed.
“In 24 hours, if you don’t take him out, you are dead,” Oyedepo recounted, adding that the situation changed immediately.
In another case, he said a female member declared by faith that she would regain her freedom by 7 a.m. According to him, although he was not contacted, the captors allegedly began harming themselves before releasing her.
Oyedepo told his congregation that they possessed similar spiritual authority and only needed to activate it.
“You have been raised far above the devil. If the church does not conquer these devils, God has left heaven,” he said.
The clip, shared under the hashtag #SupersonicSunday on church social media platforms, is believed to have been recorded during a recent service before circulating widely online.
