Nigeria’s Under-20 female football squad, the Falconets, are gearing up to face off against Ghana in the final showdown of the women’s football event at the 13th African Games in Ghana. Following their impressive 2-0 victory over Uganda in the semifinals at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday, the Falconets secured their spot in the championship match. Ghana’s team, on the other hand, secured their place in the final by defeating Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses with a score of 3-1.
The highly anticipated final between Nigeria and host nation Ghana is scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday at 8 p.m. Prior to the final, Uganda will go head-to-head against Senegal to vie for the bronze medal at 5 p.m. on the same day.
It’s worth noting that the Falconets previously clinched the gold medal at the 12th African Games held in Rabat, Morocco, in 2019. The 13th African Games, which commenced on March 8, are set to conclude on March 23, with competitions being held across three cities: Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast.
