
In a bid to address the perceived retrogression of Edo State and provide effective leadership, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, a former governor of the state, declared his intention to vie for the governorship position in the 2024 election. Osunbor made this announcement during a visit to the leadership of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin City.
Expressing his vision for the state, Osunbor emphasized his commitment to addressing critical issues such as the state of failed roads and the absence of essential developmental projects. He highlighted the alleged decline in the state’s progress under the current administration and pledged to leverage his experience, integrity, and previous tenure in office to lead Edo State to enviable heights.
During his visit, Osunbor acknowledged the challenges faced by the people of Edo State and assured the APC leadership that, if given the party’s ticket, he would work towards securing victory in the 2024 election. He stressed the urgency of delivering good governance, promising to ensure the availability of necessary amenities and the improvement of infrastructure.
Osunbor’s plea for support extended to party leaders, as he sought their endorsement for his candidacy. He conveyed his determination to bring about positive change and development in Edo State, emphasizing his past experience in office as a testament to his capacity to lead and transform the state for the better.
