Galatasaray have reportedly rejected an approach from Arsenal to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, choosing to retain the Super Eagles forward despite growing interest from the Premier League club.
According to Turkish journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan, cited by Nexus Sports, senior Arsenal officials travelled to Istanbul to hold discussions with Galatasaray representatives over a possible transfer.
Rather than making a direct cash bid, Arsenal are said to have proposed a player-plus-cash deal involving Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres and an additional €30 million in exchange for Osimhen.
The Turkish champions, however, reportedly declined the offer, indicating their determination to keep the Nigerian international ahead of the new season.
Osimhen has attracted interest from several leading European clubs following a string of impressive performances, but Galatasaray are believed to be unwilling to sanction his departure despite increasing transfer speculation.
