Ade Adetimehin, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress
(APC) in charge of Ondo State,
passionately appealed to the populace to unite
in prayer for the swift recovery of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who has recently
been facing health challenges. Speaking in Akure, the state’s capital, on a
Sunday, Adetimehin emphasized that what the people of the state needed at the
moment was to join forces and pray for their governor, while accusing
opposition parties of exploiting the governor’s health situation for political
gain.
Adetimehin firmly stated that the governor’s health problem
should not hinder him from fulfilling his official duties as the state’s
governor. He expressed his disappointment at the individuals and groups who had
taken it upon themselves to spread false news and rumors about Akeredolu’s
death. Adetimehin found it disheartening that some people would stoop so low as
to wish death upon a fellow human being, and he called for such actions to be
condemned by all well-meaning individuals.
The chairman further addressed the malicious attempts by the
opposition to tarnish the reputation of the governor’s family, accusing them of
not doing enough to care for Akeredolu during his illness. Adetimehin strongly
refuted these accusations, labeling them as false, disrespectful, flippant, and
callous. He affirmed that Arakunrin Akeredolu’s family, particularly his wife,
Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu, and their children, have been diligently fulfilling
their responsibilities in taking care of the governor.
In the face of these challenges, Adetimehin urged the people
to rally behind their governor and his family, offering their unwavering
support and prayers during these difficult times. He emphasized that Akeredolu
is a good-hearted man who has shown immense compassion for the downtrodden, and
he firmly believed that the governor deserved all the support and prayers necessary
for a complete recovery from his illness.
Adetimehin’s heartfelt plea aimed to foster unity and empathy
among the people of Ondo State, encouraging them to rise above political
differences and stand together in solidarity with their ailing governor. The
chairman’s words resonated with the citizens, sparking a renewed sense of
compassion and a shared determination to support Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and
his family in their time of need.
