In a heartwarming love story, Florence Nwankpa, a bride-to-be, took to her Instagram account on Friday to share the enchanting tale of how she met her fiancé on the once-popular social platform, 2go, a remarkable 12 years ago.
Accompanied by both a throwback photo from the early days of their connection and recent pre-wedding pictures, Nwankpa expressed her gratitude to God and celebrated the unique journey of their love.
“To God be the glory. To every love, there is a love story. 2go remains my best chatting platform because it offered me the most precious gift I could ever ask for,” she joyfully proclaimed.
The narrative rewound to 2011, where the story unfolded on the virtual realms of 2go. Nwankpa reminisced about her initial encounters with her future spouse, who was determined to secure a date with her. However, she wasn’t ready for it at the time.
The turning point arrived on a particular Saturday morning when, unbeknownst to Nwankpa, her suitor decided to surprise her by visiting her church unannounced. Seated in a different row, he discreetly took pictures of her during the ongoing church service.
Upon returning home, Nwankpa found herself in possession of these unexpected snapshots taken in close proximity inside the church. Although she was initially displeased, as she wasn’t dressed in her finest attire (borrowed from her mother), fate had already set its course.
“We became very good friends thereafter but I refused to meet him,” Nwankpa revealed. The plot thickened on December 6, 2013, her birthday, when her persistent admirer called to offer a birthday gift. Instead of collecting it herself, she sent her younger brother, playfully hashtagging it #belikepresh.
Much to her surprise, her brother returned with a sizable portrait of her 2go profile picture. Nwankpa was taken aback, acknowledging the forward and intentional nature of her suitor. As fate would have it, circumstances aligned, and Nwankpa found herself admitted to the same university in the same state where her persistent admirer was pursuing his education.
Fast forward to the present, and the once 2go acquaintances have evolved into deeply connected friends, culminating in a beautiful love story that is now blossoming into marriage. Nwankpa concluded her post with the hashtag #Two2Go2023, symbolizing the union forged on the digital pathways of 2go that has stood the test of time and flourished into a lifelong commitment.
