Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has clarified the divergent actions taken in response to the recent infractions by Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. Rashford is set to make a return to the United lineup for their upcoming Premier League clash against Wolves after engaging in a discussion with Ten Hag on Monday regarding his recent Belfast trip, which was deemed ill-advised.
On the other hand, Sancho has been loaned back to his former club Borussia Dortmund after publicly challenging Ten Hag’s decision to omit him from the squad for a game against Arsenal in September. The winger had to train individually for over four months.
In explaining the different treatments, Ten Hag pointed out that Sancho’s decision to go public with his grievances played a significant role in the varied responses. The manager emphasized the importance of resolving internal matters privately, expressing disappointment that Sancho chose to address the issue on X (formerly Twitter).
