In a recent development at the Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos State, singer Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also recognized as Sam Larry, were granted bail in the sum of N20 million with three responsible sureties.
The court’s decision follows the arraignment and subsequent remand of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two others on October 6 in connection with the circumstances surrounding the demise of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, presiding over the case, stipulated that the defendants must surrender their passports and adhere to a weekly reporting schedule at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, as part of the bail conditions.
“As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department,” stated Olatunbosun.
Furthermore, the magistrate cautioned against any direct contact related to the case.
“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she added.
The details surrounding the case and the specifics of the alleged involvement of the defendants in the musician’s death are anticipated to be revealed in forthcoming court proceedings.
