The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a rising music artist, Godspower George Osahenrumwen, popularly known as Steady Boy, for allegedly attempting to receive a consignment of smuggled illicit drugs from the United States on behalf of his manager.
In a detailed statement issued on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed that the 20-year-old musician was apprehended at Bougain Villa, Primewater Gardens 2, Freedom Way, Lekki, Lagos, after a consignment of cannabis strain “Loud” was intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
According to Babafemi, the consignment — 140 bags of Loud weighing 77.20 kilograms — was concealed in three cartons of bathtubs and imported aboard a DHL cargo flight from the United States on Tuesday. The suspect was allegedly acting on behalf of his manager, Zion Osazee Omigie, also known as Zee Money, who remains at large.
“The 20-year-old music artiste was nabbed when he showed up to take delivery of the shipment as the consignee on behalf of the syndicate,” Babafemi stated.
Lagos Drug Laboratory Uncovered
In a related operation, the NDLEA uncovered a clandestine laboratory at Ajao Estate, Lagos, where synthetic cannabinoids — commonly referred to as Colorado or Colos — were being produced in large quantities.
Babafemi said the discovery followed months of intelligence gathering after operatives intercepted freshly cooked Colos from the area. The operation led to the arrest of the laboratory’s suspected owner and the recovery of several illicit substances and precursor chemicals, including:
- 2 kg of freshly produced Colos
- 7 kg of ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol
- 5 kg of Potassium Carbonate
- 91 litres of Dibromobutane
Nationwide Operations Yield Major Seizures

NDLEA Reiterates Zero-Tolerance Policy
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd.), commended the agency’s officers for their professionalism and resilience, reaffirming the agency’s determination to dismantle drug syndicates across Nigeria.
“We will continue to target and dismantle every identified drug syndicate in any part of the country,” Marwa stated, urging sustained intelligence-led operations nationwide.
The NDLEA has intensified its crackdown on illicit drug networks, securing over 9,200 convictions and seizing more than 8.5 million kilograms of drugs in the past 30 months — part of an ongoing effort to combat narcotics trafficking and abuse across Nigeria.
