The Edo State Government has approved the appointment of Dr Patrick Ebojele as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Ebojele, a seasoned journalist and lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, replaces Fred Itua, who is expected to receive a new assignment soon. His appointment was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.
Describing Ebojele as a “renowned journalist, public administrator, researcher, and lecturer,” the government noted his extensive professional experience in media and public affairs. His career includes reporting stints with Channels Television as the Edo/Delta Correspondent, as well as positions with New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper and Comet Newspapers.
The statement said the appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening communication with the public and ensuring transparent dissemination of government policies and programmes.
The government also expressed appreciation to outgoing CPS Fred Itua for his service.
