The Ooni emphasized the importance of collaboration between Yoruba and Ijaw communities, noting the positive interactions observed between Yoruba individuals and Ijaw communities in Gbaramatu. He highlighted the shared values and encouraged fraternal relationships.
Appreciating the warm reception, the Ooni commended the accomplishments of Gbaramatu people and advocated for local emancipation. He also shared insights into the rich history of Ife Kingdom, spanning thousands of years with a global presence.
In response, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom addressed the challenges faced by the Ijaw nation, emphasizing the need for development in riverine communities. He pledged to continue promoting peace and commended traditional rulers for their role in national development.
Chief Sheriff Mulade, a community member, underscored the underdevelopment challenges in Ijaw areas and urged the federal government to prioritize the development of Gbaramatu and other Niger Delta riverine communities.
