Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has announced a further relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis. This decision, effective from Thursday, August 8, 2024, allows residents to move freely between 12 noon and 6 pm daily.
The governor’s directive was communicated through a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs. The relaxation follows an assessment of the current security situation in the state capital, which has shown significant improvement.
“In light of the improved security situation in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, the Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew,” the statement read. Governor Mutfwang emphasized that the decision was made in consultation with security agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.
The governor also praised the citizens for their cooperation and peaceful conduct during the period of the curfew. He urged continued collaboration with security agencies to maintain stability and security across the state.
Governor Mutfwang reassured the public that the government remains committed to taking actions in the best interest of the people and would continue to monitor the situation closely.
