Sit-at-home: Governor Mbah Expresses Strong Disdain for Murderers and Rogues

Enugu State Governor,
Peter Mbah, delivered a resolute message, declaring that the state was
prevailing

in the battle against sit-at-home enforcers. He firmly stated that
Enugu would never bow down to the demands of what he referred to as murderers
and enemies of Igbo land. Governor Mbah emphasized that the state’s progress as
a premier destination for investment, living, and tourism, and the growth of
its economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion, hinged on disregarding the
instructions of faceless individuals outside the state. He vowed that evil forces
would not triumph over Enugu, urging the concerted efforts of the media
community and Enugu residents to combat scaremongering and fake news, which had
become the latest tactics employed by the sit-at-home promoters.

During his inaugural
media chat with Enugu-based journalists and media executives at the Government
House, Governor Mbah implored them to uphold professionalism in their work. He
encouraged them to leverage investigative and modern journalism to fact-check
and verify the authenticity of information before disseminating it to the
public.

Confidently, the
governor stated, “The truth is that we have won the actual war against
sit-at-home enforcers and murderers out to destroy Enugu State and Igboland. We
have unleashed the security resources on them, and they have been thoroughly
defeated and discomfited.” He explained that due to their inability to
wreak havoc on the lives and property of Enugu residents, the sit-at-home
promoters had resorted to spreading fear through scaremongering and disseminating
fake news.

Governor Mbah affirmed
that Enugu State adhered to democratic principles and would not allow murderers
and terrorists to dictate the lives of its people. He denounced the influence
of a few hoodlums and stressed that the state should not succumb to their
instructions. He urged the residents to reject any attempts by those without a
mandate to control their lives and emphasized the responsibility to eliminate
such elements from all corners of the state.

The governor called for
a collective effort to counter the influence of media terrorists who employed
social media to instigate fear and spread fake news. He declared it
unacceptable and emphasized the need to empower the people, reminding them that
they could not be made inferior without their consent. Governor Mbah urged the
media to wield their superior pen and media platforms to combat fake news and
promote the truth.

Addressing concerns
about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),
Governor Mbah cautioned the people against being deceived by those who
committed criminal acts under the guise of his name. He clarified that Mazi
Kanu had expressed his disapproval of the enforcement of sit-at-home orders and
the resulting havoc in Igbo land. The governor also revealed that the state was
considering bringing both the instigators and enforcers of violence and illegal
sit-at-home orders before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague
to face charges of crimes against humanity. He emphasized that no one should be
allowed to enjoy life in one part of the world while causing death and
suffering in another.

Governor Mbah disclosed
that the state had deployed technology to ensure the safety of residents,
asserting that there were no longer any hiding places for criminals within
Enugu.

The media community
commended the government’s efforts in tackling insecurity and offered
suggestions to establish lasting peace and security in the state. They
expressed their willingness to collaborate with and support the government in
realizing its plans for the people. The journalists promised to play a pivotal
role in facilitating the return of people to work through their reports.
