The President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for
Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III,
who holds the title of Sultan of
Sokoto, has officially declared that Wednesday, June 28, 2023, will be observed
as the day of Eid-il Adha 1444 AH.
The announcement was made by the Sultanate Council Sokoto on
Sunday night. The National Moonlighting Committee posted the declaration on
their official Twitter page. According to the Sultan, the first day of
Zul-Hijjah 1444 AH will be observed on Monday, June 19, 2023.
In his message, the Sultan, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad
Sa‘ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, extended his advance wishes for a joyful Eidul Adha
Mubarak to the entire Muslim Ummah.
