Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has disclosed that parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are set to undergo a scheduled seven-hour power outage over the weekend. The announcement came via a statement issued by Ndidi Mbah, the TCN General Manager of Public Affairs, on Saturday.
Mbah stated, “The Transmission Company of Nigeria wishes to inform the public that its maintenance crew will carry out planned preventive maintenance on its 132/33kV 2X100MVA power Transformers in Apo Transmission Substation.”
The maintenance operation is scheduled to take place on both Saturday and Sunday, running from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Consequently, there will be a disruption in power supply as Abuja DisCo will be unable to distribute power from the affected transformers to its customers during this period.
Residents in areas including Garki, Asokoro, Lugbe, Airport Road, Gudu, Gaduwa, parts of Lokogoma, Apo, Kabusa, Guzape, and Nepa Junction should anticipate a seven-hour power outage on both days.
Mbah assured that power supply would be restored by 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. She expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to electricity consumers in the affected areas and concluded the statement.
