President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday celebrated his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, describing her as not only his lifelong partner but also a silent force in Nigeria’s progress.
In a tribute released from the Presidential Villa, the President lauded the First Lady’s resilience, grace, and steadfast support, noting that her role, though often behind the scenes, has been critical to his personal journey and the nation’s leadership.
“You are more than my wife. You are my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path,” Tinubu said in his message. “In you, our children and grandchildren see compassion and faith, and in you, our nation sees the true strength of womanhood — resolute yet tender, humble yet firm.”
Reflecting on their decades together, the President recalled the challenges of political struggle and exile, saying Oluremi’s patience and devotion provided stability through turbulent times. He emphasized that her quiet sacrifices have served Nigeria as meaningfully as his public service.
“Every sacrifice you made quietly, every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have — not from the podium, but from the heart of our home,” Tinubu stated.
The President also offered prayers of gratitude and blessings for her continued health and joy, adding, “Happy 65th birthday, Oluremi. Your love is a treasure I hold dear. I love you more than ever, and I am blessed every day by your presence.”
Oluremi Tinubu, who represented Lagos Central in the Senate for three terms before assuming her current role as First Lady, is widely recognized for her work in community development, faith-based initiatives, and advocacy for women and children. Her initiatives as First Lady continue to build on her long-standing reputation as a voice for the vulnerable and underserved.
