President Bola Tinubu has taken the decision to suspend Mrs. Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and Chief Executive of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). The move, reported by Channels Television, comes with immediate effect, and President Tinubu has ordered her replacement.
Mrs. Halima Shehu’s suspension occurs just three months after her confirmation for the appointment by the Senate. Prior to her role at NSIPA, she served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, utilizing her banking and career expertise to oversee the digitalization of the program.
Having worked at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022, Mrs. Shehu’s suspension raises questions about the circumstances surrounding this decision by President Tinubu. The search for her replacement is now underway.
