Dr. Doyin Abiola, trailblazing journalist and former Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of National Concord, has died at 82. Widely celebrated as the first Nigerian woman to lead a national daily, she spent over three decades in journalism, breaking barriers and shaping media discourse. Married to the late June 12 election winner, Chief MKO Abiola, she stood out for her fearless leadership, especially during political turbulence. Her legacy includes numerous awards, including the DAME Lifetime Achievement Award. Funeral arrangements will be announced by her family.
