The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested a 53-year-old Nigerian man in Los Angeles due to his prior convictions related to sexual offenses, authorities confirmed.
According to ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Los Angeles, the individual, identified as Olatunde Olusanjo, was taken into custody on April 21. The agency disclosed the arrest in a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday.
ICE officials stated that Olusanjo has a criminal history that includes charges and convictions for child molestation, sexual battery, and solicitation of lewd conduct. He is currently being held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
A video released alongside the announcement shows the suspect in handcuffs being escorted from an ICE vehicle into a detention facility. In the footage, a narrator describes Olusanjo as a Nigerian citizen and a convicted sex offender with a record of serious offenses.
Authorities say further legal processes will determine the timeline and outcome of his potential deportation.
