In a significant move to enhance the efficiency and
effectiveness of the Nigerian Police Force, the
Acting Inspector-General of
Police, Ag. IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has taken a decisive step by
ordering the deployment of thirty-five (35) Commissioners of Police to various
state commands and formations across the country. The decision came after the
Police Service Commission approved the IGP’s recommendation, marking a crucial
milestone in the ongoing efforts to revamp the nation’s security apparatus.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, issued
a statement affirming the development. He emphasized that the deployment of
these Commissioners of Police aligns with the police leadership’s unwavering
commitment to ensuring effective policing, bolstering security, and upholding
law and order throughout Nigeria. The move is aimed at addressing existing
challenges and bringing about positive changes in the security landscape.
Among the notable appointments, CP Adelesi E. Oluwarotimi has
been assigned to the Kwara State Command, while CP Adebola Ayinde Hamzat has
been entrusted with the responsibility of the Oyo State Command. CP Augustina
N. Ogbodo will assume the role of Commissioner of Police for Ebonyi State, and
CP Samuel Titus Musa will oversee operations in the Kebbi State Command. Other
distinguished appointees include CP Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye for the Anambra
State Command, CP Auwal Musa for the Bauchi State Command, and CP Alamatu
Abiodun Mustapha for the Ogun State Command.
Additional appointments entail CP Margaret Ochalla, who will
head the Police Special Fraud Unit Annex in Lagos, while CP Banji Ogunrinde
will be in charge of the Explosive Ordnance Unit. CP Rhoda A. Olofu will assume
responsibilities at the Ports Authority Police Western, Lagos, and CP Kareem
Musa will be stationed at the Interpol Annex in Lagos. Notably, CP Audu Dabigi
has been posted to the Border Patrol Force, CP Abibo D. Reuben to the Police
Mobile Force, CP Adekunle Ismaila Olusokan to Welfare FHQ Abuja, CP Omolara
Ibidun Oloruntola to the Special Fraud Unit FCID Abuja, and CP Abaniwonda S.
Olufemi to the position of Deputy Force Secretary, among other significant
appointments.
Commending the newly appointed Commissioners of Police, the
IGP urged them to fully align with his policies, vision, and mission for the
Nigerian Police Force. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing
