When we were children, all we ever thought about was playing, growing taller, and doing the things children normally do. We rarely thought about becoming adults. A child is usually more interested in growing taller than in growing older. However, as the years pass, things begin to change. Our faces change, our bodies become less energetic, and grey hairs start appearing. We look at our photographs and see the same person, yet somehow, a different version of ourselves.
I sought the opinions of others on why humans cannot stay young forever. Arvin, one of the people I spoke to, said that if humans could remain young forever, we would never get to experience some of the things that make adulthood meaningful.
He explained that childhood would not feel nostalgic if it never ended. Old pictures would not have the same emotional impact, and the places we grew up in would not feel so special when we looked back on them. According to Arvin, nostalgia comes from looking at old memories that make us wish we could return to those times. He believes that if we never aged, we would not experience those feelings in the same way.
According to Chukwuneta, being young is not supposed to be a permanent state because we are constantly changing, evolving, learning, losing, and gaining. We would never fully experience these aspects of life if we remained young forever.
Milton said that the law of life is that it is human nature to grow, acquire skills, gain new knowledge, and learn new things.
Fejiro, on the other hand, said that God initially created humans to live forever and remain young, but sin corrupted that original plan, making it necessary for humans to grow old. She also explained that, according to science and what we have been taught, people naturally age over time, depending partly on their lifestyles and habits. Therefore, the lifestyle a person adopts can influence whether they appear younger or older.
Humans cannot stay young forever because our bodies accumulate damage over time, and their ability to repair that damage is not perfect. Personally, I believe humans cannot remain young forever because we were not designed to stay young indefinitely. To complete the cycle of life, we eventually have to grow old. Humans age due to certain natural factors, and the human body has biological limitations that affect cells and tissues, causing them to deteriorate over time.
According to Blossom, humans cannot stay young forever because it is not in their nature. From a scientific perspective, humans grow old and eventually die. No matter how healthy or strong they appear, they will eventually reach the end of their lives.
Human cells divide at different stages throughout our lives. Each time a cell divides, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes, known as telomeres, generally become shorter. This process is one of the factors associated with ageing.
Cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies have developed various anti-ageing products intended to slow down or reduce visible signs of ageing. However, these products have limitations. Therefore, we can conclude that no matter what we do or use, we cannot keep ourselves young forever.
Ultimately, humans cannot remain young forever because growing, adapting, learning new things, and ageing are all part of the human life cycle.
My advice to young people is simple: you will not be young forever. No matter how much we think about it, we cannot escape the natural process of ageing. Therefore, enjoy your youthful days and live your life to the fullest. Once you grow older, you can never return to your younger years, no matter how many cosmetics you use on your face.
Live your life, learn new things, adapt to change, make meaningful memories, and, above all, ensure that you stay on the right path.
