According to reports, American rapper Jay-Z is apparently
considering making a bid to
take control of Tottenham Hotspur, following
accusations of insider trading against the current owner, Joe Lewis.
Prosecutors in the United States have charged Spurs owner Joe
Lewis with engaging in an insider trading scheme. If proven guilty, he would be
required to relinquish his ownership of the club, as per Premier League
regulations.
The Mirror has disclosed that Jay-Z is closely monitoring the
situation and is prepared to step in if the opportunity arises. Jay-Z has
previously expressed his interest in investing in a Premier League club. In
2010, he mentioned, “I may not be well-versed in soccer business, but if
the right opportunity comes along in the future, who knows?”
It’s worth noting that in the past, Jay-Z was linked to a
potential interest in Arsenal, a major rival of Tottenham Hotspur, as he had
disclosed his affinity for the Gunners in football.
