The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned the member representing Egor Constituency, Natasha Irobosa, over allegations of misconduct linked to her ongoing marital controversy involving music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
The directive was issued during Tuesday’s plenary session, where Speaker Blessing Agbebaku ordered Irobosa to appear before the House Ethics and Privileges Committee within one week.
According to the Speaker, the lawmaker must address accusations that her recent conduct—widely circulated across social media—has brought the Assembly into disrepute.
“Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been summoned to appear before the Ethics and Privilege Committee due to her recent conduct which has been trending online,” Agbebaku said. “This House has cerebral minds and educated people who have been dragged in the mud for too long by our colleague.”
The committee is expected to present its findings within two weeks.
The summons comes amid mounting public concern over Irobosa’s relationship with 2Baba, which has dominated social media for days. Viral videos have shown tense exchanges between the couple, including a heated confrontation during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze. In the clip, 2Baba questioned Irobosa before the session was abruptly cut off.
Another video circulating online shows the singer being handcuffed by UK police before being escorted away—a development that sparked widespread worry among fans.
Sources close to the couple have attributed recent tensions to internal disputes, with 2Baba’s former management team alleging interference that stalled major international projects, including tours and government-backed engagements.
The online uproar has prompted emotional reactions from fans and colleagues, with many expressing shock at the veteran singer’s current situation and urging him to take control of events.
Irobosa’s relationship with 2Baba became public earlier this year after the singer announced his separation from his wife of 12 years, Annie Macaulay. He later proposed to Irobosa on February 14, followed by a private traditional wedding ceremony in July.
As speculations grow and public scrutiny intensifies, the Edo Assembly insists its focus remains on the alleged misconduct of its member, not her personal life.
