The Federal Government has announced that the next phase of the recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will begin in August. This was disclosed by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja.
Ahmed confirmed that the recruitment process would be completed by the end of September. “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board wishes to inform the general public that it will commence the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August and will conclude the exercise before the end of September 2024,” he stated.
He assured that all shortlisted candidates would be informed about the next steps in the recruitment process. Ahmed also apologized for the delay in completing the exercise, which was initially scheduled to end by June 15. The delay was due to a nationwide manpower audit conducted across several services, including the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), NIS, FFS, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
“All shortlisted candidates will be duly notified of the next stage through their phone numbers and email addresses,” Ahmed added, reassuring applicants of timely communication regarding the forthcoming recruitment stages.
