Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a stern declaration, promising a robust response to the recent wave of attacks by Hamas on Saturday. In a statement on Sunday, Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s commitment to defeating the terrorist organization and seeking vengeance for the tragic events.
Netanyahu condemned the attacks, asserting that Hamas seeks to annihilate all Israelis. He vowed that his government would not allow such intentions to materialize. In a social media post on Sunday, the Prime Minister pledged that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would use their full military might to reduce Hamas’ infrastructure to rubble.
In his statement, Netanyahu said, “On Shabbat and a holiday, Hamas invaded Israeli territory and murdered innocent citizens, including children and the elderly. Hamas has initiated a brutal and malicious war.”
“We will emerge victorious from this conflict, despite the heavy toll it may exact. This is an incredibly challenging day for all of us,” he added.
Netanyahu highlighted the ruthlessness of Hamas, accusing the group of targeting civilians, including children and mothers, in their homes and beds. He lamented the abduction of elderly individuals, children, and young women, as well as the brutal slaughter of citizens who were merely enjoying the holiday.
“What transpired today is unprecedented in Israel, and I am determined to prevent its recurrence. The entire government stands united behind this decision,” Netanyahu affirmed.
He announced that the IDF would immediately utilize its full military capabilities to cripple Hamas, ensuring a forceful retaliation for the dark day imposed on Israel and its citizens. Quoting the poet Bialik, Netanyahu remarked, “Revenge for the blood of a little child has yet been devised by Satan.”
Netanyahu concluded by warning the residents of Gaza to evacuate, as Israel was prepared to act forcefully throughout the region.
“At this moment, the IDF is systematically clearing terrorists from the remaining communities. They are methodically regaining control, one community at a time,” he stated.
Expressing condolences, Netanyahu extended his heartfelt sympathy to the families affected by the senseless acts of violence, which he described as “cold-blooded” and marked by “endless brutality.”
