The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Sunday that 24,535 candidates will retake the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on June 22, 2024. This decision follows a thorough review of the initial examination process, which revealed significant non-compliance with JAMB’s standards at several centres.
In a statement, JAMB’s spokesperson Fabian Benjamin also revealed the release of 3,921 outstanding UTME results from the 2024 examination. This brings the total number of released results to 1,883,350.
Affected candidates can print their supplementary Examination Notification Slip starting Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to determine their designated examination centres. The two-week notice period aims to provide these candidates with adequate time to prepare.
To check their results, candidates should send “RESULT” to either 55019 or 66019. Those cleared will receive their results, while those scheduled for a retake will be informed accordingly.
In addition, JAMB addressed issues concerning the Kwara State University (KWASU) diploma programme. A special registration exercise will be conducted for 3,633 prospective candidates who missed the 2024 UTME, under the assumption they would participate in the Direct Entry (DE) exercise. These candidates must register at approved CBT centres in Kwara, Oyo, and Osun states by June 10, 2024.
Of the 3,633 candidates, 469 who have already taken the 2024 UTME do not need to retake the exam. The remaining candidates will join the June 22 rescheduled examination along with 20,550 candidates whose results were previously under investigation and 2,702 candidates whose fingerprints could not be verified.
JAMB noted that 322 candidates have been flagged for examination misconduct, indicating that the registered individuals were not the ones who appeared for the exam. These candidates will undergo further investigation.
For the 2024 Direct Entry registration, the deadline has been extended to June 17, 2024, to accommodate an increased number of prospective candidates. Registration points have been expanded beyond the Professional Registration Centres to address high demand in several states.
In Lagos State, the centres include JAMB PRC on Ojora Road, Ikoyi; JAMB PRC on Isheri Road, Ogba; and ETC Nig. JKK House on Ikorodu Road, Ilupeju. In Oyo State, candidates can register at JAMB PTC in Agodi G.R.A, Ibadan; FCE Special, CBT Centre in Oyo; and JAMB PTC in Igboho. In Kwara State, the centres are JAMB PTC on Old Jebba Road, Ilorin; and the University of Ilorin CBT Centre, Mini Campus. Osun State registration centres include JAMB PTC in Alekuwodo; OSPDC, Oroki Estate on Ilobu Road, Osogbo; and JAMB PTC in Gbongon.
JAMB urged all eligible candidates to take advantage of this opportunity, as no further extensions will be granted.
