
In a thrilling announcement on her social media account, Nigerian music icon Yemi Alade expressed her sheer delight as she confirmed her participation in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as a performer. Alade, known for her dynamic performances and versatile musical talents, revealed that this opportunity marks the realization of a dream she has harbored since 2016.
Taking to her X account, the celebrated singer shared her journey of longing to grace the stage at football ceremonies. She underscored the significance of prayer and the power of manifesting one’s desires, attributing her success to these principles. Alade conveyed her honor in being chosen to perform at AFCON, labeling the achievement as nothing short of a dream come true.
In a heartfelt message, she expressed, “I cannot emphasize enough the importance of prayer and speaking into existence your heart desires. Since 2016, I have desired to perform at the stadium for football ceremonies surrounded by hundreds of dancers and millions of people.” Alade candidly shared that while opportunities arose over the years, none proved favorable until now.

The 34th AFCON is scheduled to be hosted by Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, providing the perfect stage for Yemi Alade to showcase her musical prowess.
